The Kia Seltos remains the bestselling model in the Korean carmaker’s range at 11,483 units, contributing 59.44 per cent in its overall sales.
Kia India has recorded a sales growth of 1.4 per cent in January 2022 selling 19,319 units. The Kia Seltos remains the bestselling model in the Korean carmaker’s range at 11,483 units, contributing 59.44 per cent in its overall sales. The Kia Seltos also managed to secure its position in the top 10 bestselling models in the country in January 2022. The Kia Sonet subcompact SUV remained at the second spot in the brand’s range and contributed substantially to the sales. Kia India is expecting to further build up on the sales momentum once the Kia Carens MPV goes on sale in our market.
The Kia Sonet remained the second bestselling model in the company’s range.
Hardeep Brar, VP and Head of Sales & Marketing, Kia India said, “We are kick-starting the new year with positive sales growth and a new product on offering for our discerning Indian customers. The month of January has been truly overwhelming for us, with our newest offering Kia Carens, receiving a record response with 7,738 bookings in just 24 hours. We are excited by the market reaction, as all of our offerings have been consistently performing well on a month-on-month basis. We are confident that introduction of our three-row recreational vehicle the Kia Carens, will strengthen our position in the Indian automotive industry.”
The Korean carmaker recorded a healthy 147.77 per cent growth on month-on-month (MoM) basis, but that’s primarily due to a low base in December 2021 as the company sold just 7,797 units, citing chip shortage as the major reason for the drop in volumes. The brand has sold around 3.9 lakh units in the last 30 months of sales operation in the country.
