The Yamaha Aerox 155 is powered by the same 4-valve 155cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine from the Yamaha R15. The engine has been retuned to produce 15PS at 8000rpm and 13.9Nm at 6500rpm, making it the most powerful scooter on sale in India. The underbone chassis is suspended onto a telescopic fork and dual shocks. The scooter runs on 14-inch wheels with 110-section tyre at the front and a 140-section unit at the rear. For braking, Yamaha has employed a 230mm disc up front and a drum brake out back, aided by single-channel ABS.

The Yamaha Aerox 155 gets a sporty, sharp design with edgy body panels, and sleek dual LED headlights with LED DRLs. The front indicators are integrated into the body panel. Unlike a traditional scooter, the Yamaha Aerox 155 has a spine running through the centre of its floorboard, which also houses the fuel filler cap.

The Yamaha Aerox 155 is a feature-rich scooter and boasts a 5.8-inch LCD console complete with Bluetooth connectivity via the Yamaha Y-Connect app. The console displays call/SMS alerts, phone battery charge, and with the app, you get functionality like last parking location, rev counter and average fuel consumption data. Yamaha has also equipped the Aerox 155 with an Idle start-stop function that kills the ignition when idling for long durations.
