Maruti Wagon R Latest Updates

The Maruti Suzuki WagonR is set to get a facelift this month. It will be a mild update, limited to new bumpers, revised grille and redesigned alloy wheels. There won’t be any major changes to the interior or its features. Th current gen was introduced in January 2019, and this will be its first update ever since.

The facelifted model will continue utilising the current model’s 83PS 1.2-litre petrol and 68PS 1-litre petrol engines, along with an optional CNG kit. Transmission options will include a 5-speed manual and an AMT.

Expect the facelifted Wagon R to command a premium over the current model that retails from Rs 5.18 lakh to Rs 6.58 lakh (ex-showroom pan-India). Its alternatives are the Maruti Suzuki Celerio, Hyundai Santro, and the Tata Tiago.

The Wagon R is priced from Rs. 5.17 – 6.57 Lakh (ex-showroom Begusarai). Wagon R comes in 14 variants of spec and feature combinations and available in 6 colours. The price of Wagon R petrol variants ranges between Rs. 5.17 Lakh to Rs. 6.57 Lakh. The prices of Wagon R CNG variants start at Rs. 6.12 Lakh and the top-end CNG is priced at Rs. 6.18 Lakh. Wagon R also comes with 4 automatic variants starting at Rs. 6.00 Lakh.

Maruti Wagon R Specifications

The WagonR is powered by two BS6 petrol engines. The first is a 1.0-litre three-cylinder engine making 68PS and 90Nm. The other option is a 1.2-litre four-cylinder mill delivering 83PS and 113Nm. Both engines are paired with a manual gearbox as well as an AMT.

Exterior highlights include a boxy design that carries over the basic formula of tall height and XL-sized windows. On the inside, the Wagon R gets equipment like twin gloveboxes, bottle holder in each door, steering wheel from the Ignis with audio controls, and a 7-inch SmartPlay Studio infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Safety kit consists of rear parking sensors, dual airbags, and ABS with EBD.
