Bajaj Dominar 250 Latest Updates

By offering three new dual-tone colours, Bajaj has given a fresh look to its baby Dominar 250. The best bit about the new colours? You have to pay no extra money. Yep, it arrives at Rs 1,54,176 (ex-showroom Delhi), just like the other standard colours. The price of the Dominar 250 was slashed down by over Rs 16,000 to make it an even more attractive package, especially when compared to the Suzuki Gixxer 250. Head here to check out the new colours.

Bajaj Dominar 250 Price

Bajaj Dominar 250 price start at Rs. 1.64 Lakh (Ex-Showroom). Bajaj Dominar 250 is offered in only one variant – STD.

Bajaj Dominar 250 Specifications

The KTM 250 Duke-sourced engine has been reworked to produce 27PS power at 8500rpm and 23.5Nm of peak torque at 6500rpm. The motor comes mated to a 6-speed transmission, aided by a slipper clutch. Fuel tank capacity remains unchanged at 13 litres. The quarter-litre Dominar uses a 37mm USD fork compared to the 43mm unit on its elder sibling. It retains the same rear monoshock. It uses a smaller 300mm disc up front and the same 230mm disc at the rear. The swingarm is now a box-section unit. The tyres are also slightly slimmer than the Dominar 400 — 100-section front and 130-section rear radials.

Bajaj Dominar 250 Design

The Dominar 250 may feature the same bodywork and similar features as the Dominar 400, but it gets a couple of dual-tone shade as well as a red colour option to differentiate itself from its elder sibling. Other noticeable differences include skinners 37mm forks, a slimmer rear bias-ply tyre, box-section swingarm, and a smaller 300mm rotor at the front.

Bajaj Dominar 250 Features

On the feature front, the Dominar 250 comes with LED lights all around, a twin-barrel exhaust, perimeter frame, and bungee straps tucked under the seat. Bajaj has cut a few corners though. For instance, the 250 gets a tank-mounted console with tell-tale lights which is from the previous-gen Dominar. As a result, it misses out on extra features such as instantaneous fuel consumption and a gear position indicator. The dual-tone alloy wheels seen on the 400cc have been replaced by simple matte black finished ones to keep costs in check.

Bajaj Dominar 250 Competitors

At this price point, the Bajaj Dominar 250 competes against the Suzuki Gixxer 250, Apache RTR 200 4V and Yamaha FZ range. If you were to consider the 250cc segment, it also takes on the KTM 250 Duke.

What is good and bad in Dominar 250?

  • Dominar 250 PositivesButch looks, Good price to power ratio, Beefy underpinnings
  • Dominar 250 NegativesHeaviest bike in its class
  • Expert’s ConclusionApart from its accessible price tag, the Dominar 250 does one thing right — it is fit to purpose. The 250cc motor may feel boring on the KTM, but it works beautifully on the Dominar especially when you combine it with its comfortable touring ergonomics. It truly deserves the ‘sports tourer’ tag. So while Bajaj might pitch it as the entry-level Dominar, we think the 250 is the Dominar in its perfect form.
