The 2022 TVS Apache RTR 160 4V was launched in India in October 2021. In its latest iteration, TVS blessed the popular naked with riding modes (a first in the segment) and a bunch of new features. Take a look at the details in our launch report here.

TVS Apache RTR 160 4V Price

TVS Apache RTR 160 4V Specifications

Powering the 2022 Apache RTR 160 4V is the same 159.7cc single-cylinder air-cooled fuel-injected engine with an oil cooler. For 2022, the engine has been enhanced with three riding modes: Rain, Urban and Sport. Under the Sport mode, the motor churns out 17.55PS at 9250 rpm and 14.73Nm at 7250 rpm, making it 0.08PS less powerful than its predecessor. The output figures go down further, to 15.64PS at 8600 rpm and 14.14Nm at 7250 rpm under Urban and Rain modes, for easier handling. The motor is paired with a 5-speed gearbox. For the Apache RTR 165 RP, TVS has used a bigger bore, valves and boosted the compression ratio. The resultant 164.9cc engine belts out 19.2PS at 10,000rpm and 14.2Nm 8750rpm, a bump of 1.5PS. But the torque has gone down by 0.5Nm and also kicks in 1,500rpm later. Topping that is the new slipper clutch, unique to the RP variant only. The TVS Apache RTR 160 4V is built on a double-cradle split Synchro-Stiff chassis linked to a telescopic front fork and a rear monoshock tuned by Showa. It rolls on 17-inch alloys, wrapped in a 90-section front and 110-section rear tyre (for the drum variant) and a 90-section front and 130-section rear radial tyre (for the disc variant). A 270mm front petal disc and a 130mm rear drum brake (or 200mm rear petal disc) bring this naked to a halt. Single-channel ABS is offered as standard.

TVS Apache RTR 160 4V Design

The TVS Apache RTR 160 4V gets a sporty streetfighter-like design complete with chiseled lines all over. The new sleek all-LED headlight with fang-like LED DRLs complements the muscular fuel tank extensions rather nicely. The large grey side panels keep the midsection busy, while the rear is dominated by a chunky (but practical) tyre hugger and a sporty twin-barrel exhaust.

TVS Apache RTR 160 4V Features

The 2022 TVS Apache RTR 160 4V features bulb indicators and a new all-LED headlight with LED DRLs. The tail lamp is LED as well. The bike is equipped with a fully digital multifunctional instrument cluster with smartphone connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation in the top-end disc and Special Edition variants. Another noteworthy feature is the ‘Glide Through Traffic’ (GTT) function, essentially a low-speed assist to help the bike move through traffic without undue pressure on the clutch. This feature should make life a lot easier on roads with heavy traffic. The RP flaunts a new 240mm rear brake, biggest in the segment, while the other variants come with a 200mm unit.
