New Mahindra XUV300, XUV300 Electric Launch Details Revealed

Mahindra XUV300, the sub-4 meter SUV from the home-grown automaker, will receive its first mid-life update in Q3, fiscal year 2022. That means, it will arrive around January 2023. The information comes from Veejay Nakra, CEO Automotive, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. The facelifted model will witness significant changes in terms of design, features and engine mechanism. If reports are to be believed, the 2023 Mahindra XUV300 facelift could be offered with a new 1.2L mStallion T-GDI petrol engine that’s good enough for 130bhp and 230Nm.

Just so you know, the automaker showcased the XUV300 Sportz variant with the same powertrain. With new gasoline motor, Mahindra’s compact SUV will become the most powerful car in its category. Compared to the existing 1.2L petrol unit, the new one will be 20bhp more powerful and 30Nm torqueier. The 1.2L, 3-cylider petrol (109bhp/200Nm) and 1.5L CRDi diesel (115bhp/300Nm) engines will continue to be on offer. Transmission choices will include a 6-speed manual and an AMT unit.

The new 2023 Mahindra XUV300 facelift is likely to come with an updated touchscreen infotainment system with high resolution graphics and user interface. Some of its design changes will include a bigger grille with larger vertical chrome slats, full-LED headlamps, newly-designed alloy wheels and revised taillamps.

Anish Shah, Managing Director and CEO of Mahindra Group has confirmed that the Mahindra XUV300 electric SUV will arrive in Q3 or Q4 of financial year 2023. The XUV300 EV will be Mahindra’s first vehicle to be based on its MESMA (Mahindra Electric Scalable and Modular Architecture) platform. The model will come with 350V and 380V powertrains and two battery pack options. Its standard version will be put up against the Tata Nexon EV and the long-range variant will take on the Hyundai Kona EV and MG ZS EV. While the former will deliver range around 200km, the latter one will promise around 375km.
