The Slavia is the second Skoda after the Kushaq to be underpinned by the localised MQB-A0-IN platform
Skoda India is set to launch the Slavia sedan on February 28, starting with the 1-litre TSI variants. Prices of the more powerful 1.5-litre TSI will be announced on March 3. Pre-launch bookings are underway for a token of Rs 11,000, and the sedan is on display at Skoda dealerships.

This is your 5-point cheatsheet to the sedan, so you can make an informed purchase.
In typical Skoda fashion, the Slavia’s design is classy and doesn’t scream for your attention. The carmaker’s all-too-familiar butterfly grille dominates the fascia, flanked by a pair of LED headlights, and the bumper with its sharp line and details looks bold and sporty. Other design elements on the outside are the clean character lines, 16-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, and split LED tail lamps.
The dashboard design is identical to the latest Fabia sold overseas. The use of light colours makes it a pleasant cabin, with this author particularly taking to the copper-colour trim running across the width of the dashboard. The digital driver’s display, touchscreen infotainment system, gear knob, and climate control panel are shared with other MQB-A0-IN models to keep costs in check.
The Slavia gets a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, an 8-inch digital driver’s display, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, connected car tech (telematics), ventilated front seats, a single-pane sunroof, ambient lighting, an 8-speaker sound system with subwoofer, and auto headlamps and wipers.
Passenger safety is taken care of by up to six airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors with camera, electronic stability control, and tyre pressure monitoring.
The Slavia will get the Volkswagen Group’s 115PS 1-litre three-cylinder and 150PS 1.5-litre four-cylinder turbo-petrol engines. The latter develops class-leading numbers and gets segment-first cylinder deactivation tech for improved fuel economy. Both engines can be had with manual and automatic transmissions.
