Jeep has launched the Compass Trailhawk SUV in India at a price tag of Rs 30.72 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). It is basically a rugged off-roading version of the Compass. Its major enhancements include revised bumpers, raised suspension, unique 17-inch alloy wheels, decals and badges, a 4LOW mode with a 20:1 ratio to help crawl steep inclinations, and a dedicated ‘Rock’mode, which altogether improve the SUVs off-road credibility. It will also get improved traction, articulation, manoeuvrability and water crossing ability.
The Trailhawk will borrow the standard models 170PS 2-litre diesel engine coupled with a 9-speed automatic and an all-wheel drivetrain.

It is powered by a 2-litre diesel engine, making 170PS and 350Nm and is paired to a 9-speed automatic transmission with an all-wheel drivetrain. For the Compass Trailhawk, the folks at Jeep have reworked the suspension to handle the rough stuff better. There’s also a low-range drive system with a 20:1 crawl ratio, and a dedicated ‘Rock’ mode on top of the existing traction modes already available on the standard Compass (Snow, Mud, and Auto).
