Honda recalls the 2020 CBR1000RR-R

– The recall is for a resin hose used for the oil-cooler outlet pipe

– The heat insulation measure for it is inappropriate and the hose could possibly crack

– Only 7 models are being recalled

Honda Motorcycle and Scooters India have issued a recall for 7 of its 2020 CBR1000RR-R. The recall is in regards to an inappropriate hose.

The bikes are equipped with a resin hose with inappropriate insulation measures. So, if the bike is ridden in the first gear at a short distance from a preceding vehicle, the exhaust gas heat can cause a crack in the resin hose. Now, the hose is used for the oil-cooler outlet pipe.

The crack can further lead to the engine oil leak. If that wasn’t bad enough, Honda also added that the oil could further seep towards the rear wheel and the result could be the bike losing traction and a fatal accident.

Given the defect is from the factory and fatal, HMSCI should likely replace the part free of cost. So, if you own a 2020 Honda CBR1000RR-R, we recommend that you immediately call up your nearest BigWing dealership and have your bike checked out.
