Jeep’s India-bound SUV, the fifth-gen Grand Cherokee, has been globally revealed. It gets sophisticated styling with sleek LED headlamps and tail lamps. The upright stance and squared-off wheel arches accentuate the overall appeal.
The upcoming model will be a five-seater, unlike the Grand Cherokee L, which is a seven-seater.
The fifth-gen Jeep Grand Cherokee will be powered by three engines: 297PS/352Nm 3.6-litre V6 petrol, a 362PS/528Nm 5.7-litre V8 petrol, and a new 380PS/637Nm 2-litre plug-in-hybrid (that can go 40km on pure electric power). The SUV will get an all-wheel drivetrain as standard.
The new-gen Jeep Grand Cherokee is expected to be launched in India in 2022, at prices starting from Rs 75 lakh (ex-showroom). It will lock horns with the BMW X5, Mercedes-Benz GLE, and the upcoming facelifted Audi Q7.
