Here’s How Different The Hero XPulse 200 4V Rally Edition And Rally Kit Are

There are some major differences in the two hardcore avatars of the XPulse 200 4V

After showcasing the bike earlier this month, Hero MotoCorp finally launched the much-awaited XPulse 200 4V Rally Edition in India on July 11. So what’s different between the Rally Edition and the standard XPulse 200 4V fitted with Hero’s Rally Kit? 

Visual Changes

What immediately catches the eye is the new livery on the Rally Edition. It comes draped in Hero MotoCorp’s factory racing colours of white and red and has graphics in tune with the livery of Hero MotoSports Team Rally. As you look beyond the paint scheme, you will also notice the absence of the tall, flat rally seat. That said, the shorter standard seat will bode well for amateur off-road riders.

Dimension Changes

A major difference you’ll feel as you sit on the XPulse 200 with the Rally Kit is the massive 933mm seat height. The Rally Edition’s seat height, on the other hand, is a much more accessible 885mm. While that might still sound daunting, the bike’s narrow profile should make it easier to plant your feet on the ground.    

While the suspension travel figures are the same, the Rally Edition gets 5mm less ground clearance than the Rally Kit. That said, it still stands at a colossal 270mm. Another significant change that you see between the two bikes is the difference in tyres. The Rally Edition misses out on the Maxxis knobby tyres, something that the Rally Kit offers. 

Hero has said the XPulse 200 4V Rally Edition is a limited-run model. However, the details on the number of bikes the marque plans to put up for sale haven’t been revealed yet. It is priced at Rs 1,52,100 (ex-showroom Delhi), which is Rs 16,122 more than the standard XPulse 200 4V. 

For the extra kit on offer, the offer sounds really good. That also makes the Rally Edition the most affordable bike in India to get fully adjustable suspension, displacing the TVS Apache RR 310 BTO. 

If you want the full Rally Kit for the standard XPulse, it will cost you Rs 46,000, over and above the Rs 1,35,978 (ex-showroom Delhi) price tag that the XPulse 200 4V carries. For the extra money, you get better tyres, a taller, flatter seat and a bit more ground clearance.
