There is a new pet-friendly special edition of the new Honda WR-V in the Asian market. It is manufactured in India and sold under the Elevate name. It is exported to Japan. The Japanese company unveiled the WR-V accessorized by Honda Dog, which features official accessories from the Honda Access brand, at a fair in Tokyo with the goal of “enriching life for people and pets.”

The front passenger seat of the WR-V is equipped with a carrier that can reportedly fit two small dogs in addition to a grey pet door cover, making it an incredibly capable doggy carrier. For small and medium-sized dogs, the back seats feature a pet seat circle and anchorages for attaching leashes. It’s also possible to decide to add more stickers inside.

A distinctive black plastic grille that resembles the AMG “Panamericana” grille is part of the exterior, along with chrome accents around the light units and the bottom of the grille, a WR-V badge above the front fender, and a “Honda Dog” sticker on the doors. Additionally, dog-themed key covers and aluminum wheel caps are options.

Honda has a history of producing dog-friendly vehicles. In 2009, the Japanese automaker displayed a Honda Element Concept in California, USA, that was equipped with a number of canine-specific features.

Made in India Honda Elevate

As mentioned earlier, Honda manufactures the Elevate at its Tapukara plant in Rajasthan for both local and international markets. The 1.5-liter naturally aspirated gasoline engine of the Japanese-made WR-V model is nearly identical to the Elevate model that is sold in India; the only difference is that the CVT automatic transmission is the only available option there. In March of last year, Honda announced that 6,809 WR-V Elevate SUVs had been delivered to Japan.
